Lebanon: Electriciens sans frontières and the Endowment Fund join forces

In September and October 2024, bombardments in southern Lebanon and Beirut caused massive destruction, particularly to civilian infrastructure, resulting in over 2,600 deaths and 13,500 injuries. More than a million people were affected, over a third of whom were forced to move to emergency shelters.

These events follow violent clashes, whose strikes have spread to regions previously spared by the conflict, affecting civilian populations.

In response to the disaster, Electriciens sans frontières and the Endowment Fund have mobilized to help, in collaboration with the Crisis and Support Center (CDCS) of the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs. To provide aid and support to the affected populations, the Endowment Fund delivered 400 solar kits to Lebanon. Comprising a solar panel, a lithium battery, three low-energy LED bulbs, as well as a box equipped with 12V outputs, standard USB and rapid charge 3.0 ports, and a multi-format charging cable for cell phones, these kits enable solar energy to be converted into electrical power easily and efficiently.
