In late January, Électriciens sans frontières, an NGO supported by the Endowment Fund, traveled to Nigeria to assist the Daughters of Charity of Saint Vincent de Paul. After nearly three years of preparation, the mission concluded in early February with the return of the team of eight volunteers to France.
The Daughters of Charity are an international group of women within the Catholic Church who dedicate their lives to God, living in community and serving people living in poverty, in an evangelical spirit of humility, simplicity, and charity.
Faced with frequent power outages and a costly reliance on generators, the project aimed to secure the power supply and enhance the energy self-sufficiency of the organization’s provincial headquarters in Port Harcourt.
The site was connected to the national power grid, but the grid was unreliable. The group therefore had to rely on generators to power the bakery workshop and for daily needs (lighting, fans).
Through a donation of safety equipment, tools, and various connection accessories from Sicame Group in November 2025, the Endowment Fund supported the project with a grant of 15,000 euros, enabling the rehabilitation of existing facilities, the installation of a solar energy system with 140 photovoltaic panels, and the training of the sisters in system operation, maintenance, and electrical safety.
