Working towards
greater inclusion

greater inclusion
The Endowment Fund strives to ensure greater representation and inclusion of people with disabilities.

Athletes
with disabilities
We encourage and promote the inclusion of people with disabilities, a core and fundamental value of Sicame Group and the Endowment Fund. To this end, we support disabled athletes and help them with their sporting and professional projects, both financially and morally.

Éléa, born in Bayonne, France, and who had her femur amputated following a road accident at the age of 18, has managed to overcome her disability thanks to canoeing, a sport she can practice without her walking prosthesis. She was selected for the French team just one year after her debut and participated in her first Paralympic Games in Paris in 2024, while also studying physical therapy.

Originally from Chambéry, France, Florian started cross-country skiing at the age of two and a half thanks to his parents, who were keen enthusiasts of the sport. After several years of practicing cross-country skiing and biathlon (a discipline combining cross-country skiing and rifle shooting), he began competing on the national circuit at the age of 15. A few years later, he joined the Savoie Nordique team, which brings together the best athletes in the department. In 2022, he became the guide for Anthony Chalençon, a blind athlete with whom he competes in para cross-country skiing and para biathlon at the international level.

Originally from Tamil Nadu, India, Keerthika has been paralyzed from the chest down since she fell at the age of 9. She discovered parasports at the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games, and it took her nearly four years to find a personalized training program. Thanks to her determination and perseverance, the athlete excels in shot put, javelin, and discus in international competitions.

Originally from Le Chesnay in France and born with a disability affecting his lower limbs, Lucas started playing table tennis at the age of 5 and began competing in disabled sports in 2015. Two years later, he won his first French championship title (under 21) and competed in the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris. Alongside his sporting career, he is currently studying chiropractic at the IFEC (Institut Franco-Européen de Chiropraxie) in Toulouse.

Sarah Adam, a Paralympic athlete and teacher from Saint Louis, Missouri, is redefining wheelchair rugby. Diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2016, she switched from able-bodied sports to adapted competition, becoming the first woman to join the U.S. wheelchair rugby team. A silver medalist at the Paralympic Games and gold medalist at the Parapan American Games, Sarah is also co-captain of the team. Off the field, she teaches occupational therapy at Saint Louis University, where she advocates for inclusion in sports and education.

Born on June 4, 2000 in Tarbes and hailing from Guadeloupe, Hélios has been visually impaired since he was three years old. He discovered judo at age seven and took part in his first para judo competition when he was seventeen. Since then, he has climbed to the top of the world para judo rankings for his disability category (-90kg). He has also been working as a columnist for “l'Esprit du Judo” magazine since September 2021.

Born on December 4, 1999 in Pau, Émeline took part in gymnastics and swimming from an early age. She took up para swimming at age thirteen, after an accident during a gymnastics competition. Her disability was caused by an error made during surgery for a dislocated elbow and an ulna fracture resulting from her accident. She competed for the first time at the 2021 Paralympic Games in Tokyo.

Born on July 28, 1995 in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France, Valentin discovered and took up athletics at age fifteen. He is affected by hemiplegia on the right side of his body and suffers from 50% paralysis in both his arm and leg. He started out as a sprinter, but later switched to the long jump. Just three years after taking up athletics, and only a few days after taking his baccalaureate, Valentin was selected for his first World Championships. After graduating with a degree in STAPS (Science and Techniques of Physical Activities and Sport), he went on to study at the Kedge Business School in Bordeaux.

I loved my first contact with the Sicame Endowment Fund. They were very personable, attentive, and genuinely interested in supporting athletes through their experiences, highs, and lows. I immediately felt at home and can't wait to embark on my journey to the next Paralympic Games alongside Sicame Group.

I am very happy to embark on this adventure with the Sicame Endowment Fund. From our very first contact, I felt that we shared common values such as pushing ourselves to excel, commitment to disability issues and, more generally, openness to others. Their financial support allows me to devote myself 100% to my sporting project and my goals. But this support also allows me to meet and share my experiences with the Group's employees, discover the dynamics of the company, and integrate into a community of athletes.

The Sicame Endowment Fund has believed in me and given me the freedom to focus on my training without any financial worries. I will strive to make both Sicame Group and India proud.

I am fortunate to have the support of the Sicame Endowment Fund, which promotes the inclusion of people with disabilities. This assistance will enable me to continue my sporting project after the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, turning my attention to those in Los Angeles in 2028, while completing my studies in chiropractic. These projects would not be possible without the trust that Sicame Group has placed in me.Â

The support of the Sicame Endowment Fund allows me to combine my life as a Paralympic athlete with that of an occupational therapy professor. From the outset, I was drawn to Sicame Group because of its values-based approach and commitment to inclusion. Knowing that I am supported by an organization whose mission aligns with my own gives me confidence and energy as I prepare for the upcoming Paralympic Games.

The Endowment Fund has been supporting me for 3 years now, starting with a first contact during which we met around shared values. Following this exchange, I joined Sicame Group's athletes' team, which provides me with financial support, enabling me to prepare for the Paralympic Games in the best possible conditions. Through visits to our subsidiaries, I was able to discover and learn more about the Group's actions, as well as seeing the enthusiasm surrounding this team of athletes. Knowing that all these people are behind us is a real boost for me, and helps me to keep pushing myself to achieve my goals.

Sicame Group has been one of my partners for three years now, and I immediately clicked with their way of seeing things. Through this partnership, I have met some very inspiring and enlightening people. On a purely sporting level, they demonstrated their belief in me and my career right after Tokyo 2021. I've been able to make a lot of changes: training venues, methods and coaches to help me achieve my goals.

Sicame Group started supporting me after the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games. It worked out well right away because we share the same values (hard work, loyalty and trust). This support helped me to become a professional in my sporting field, and also to finance my Master’s degree. I know that without their personal and financial support, the road to becoming a top-level athlete would have been much harder.
